We aim to empower individuals, foster a positive community,
and improve the overall well-being of those dealing with persistent pain.

Depending on the history of your persistent pain, the services below may be private or ACC-funded. If you intend to pay privately, you can request our fee schedule.

SERVICES ON OFFER INCLUDE:
Pain Triage Assessment
1hr Assessment + IDT Planning
A preliminary assessment to clarify the nature of treatment and rehabilitation required, which includes an evaluation of the causes and contributors to your pain. We will review any medical notes that you or your referrer has provided, and identify the best rehabilitation pathway for you.
This is typically completed by our Physiotherapist and reviewed by an interdisciplinary team including our Medical Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, and other allied health clinicians as indicated.
Further referrals to a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and/or interventional procedures can be facilitated.
Upon completion, a summarized report will be sent back to the referrer and/or ACC.

Pain Education Group Programme
4 x 1.5hr in-person group sessions
A specialised, stand-alone programme for clients who would benefit from pain education and learning
self-management strategies. Recommended for all clients.​

Psychological Skills for Pain Group Programme
4 x 1hr in-person group sessions
Being in a state of persistent pain often causes Anxiety and/or Depression to develop. This group programme teaches practical skills for mood management, drawing on the disciplines of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Community Support
6-12 weeks of input 2-3x/week
Once you have attended the Pain Education sessions, it's time to get going! Interventions are tailored to each client, consisting of one-to-one sessions with our Physiotherapist, alongside practical group rehabilitation sessions with our Pain Coach. We help you to develop self-management strategies to improve your quality of life, and re-engage in valued daily activities, hobbies and/or work.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
8 x 1.5 hr sessions
Dr Pip Appleton, Clinical Psychologist, is an experienced mindfulness teacher. She gently and expertly leads you in this evidence-based approach to mindfulness, which has been proven to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. By learning to pay attention to the present moment without judgement, you can rediscover the joy that is waiting for you every day.
