Depending on the history of your persistent pain, the services below may be private or ACC-funded.

Pain Triage Assessment

1 hour

$120

  • Assessment by a qualified physiotherapist and/or clinical psychologist with experience in persistent pain.

  • A chance for you to tell your pain story and be listened to

  • You will be given a formulation of what drivers are contributing to your persistent pain experience with recommendations for next steps.

  • We can refer on to other specialists if we think that is warranted.

Pain Education Class

3 x 1.5hr sessions

$345

  • Introduction to the latest pain science

  • In-class exercises to apply to your unique situation

  • Interactive discussion led by experienced clinicians including Physiotherapist, Clinical Neuropsychologist and Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Pain Coaching

2x30minute sessions/week for 8 weeks

$575

  • learn pain management tools and develop a plan specific to your goals so you can get back to the things you love

  • weekly 30 minute supervised gym session and weekly 30 minute group session with physio or psychologist to develop your individualised plan

  • At the end of 8 weeks, you have a toolkit of practiced skills to help you keep working towards your goals.

Mindfulness for Pain Class

8 x 1 hr sessions

$632.50

  • Evidence-based approach to mindfulness, proven to decrease low mood & anxiety related to pain.

  • Learn to pay attention to the present moment without judgement.

  • Facilitated by Dr Pip Appleton, an experienced mindfulness teacher.

Book a Pain Triage assessment

Your pain is real. Let's figure out what's going  on together.

  • Preliminary assessment to determine appropriate treatment and rehabilitation

  • Evaluation of key causes and contributing factors to your pain

  • Review of relevant medical notes (from you or your referrer)

  • Identification of the most suitable rehabilitation pathway

  • Assessment completed by a Physiotherapist

  • Reviewed by an interdisciplinary team (Medical Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, and other allied health clinicians as needed)

  • Referrals can be arranged to a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and/or for interventional procedures

  • A summary report is provided to your referrer and/or ACC upon completion

Changing pain begins with understanding 

This is our foundational program.  This Pain Education Group is focused on modern pain neuroscience and a brief introduction to self-management strategies and is facilitated jointly by Clinical Neuropsychologist, Dr Damien Appleton and Physiotherapist, Carol Kalnins.

Gain valuable insights and strategies to manage your pain effectively. Connect with others and learn from experts.

Pain Coaching Class

Pain changes when your behaviour towards it changes. This is really hard when you are living with persistent pain. Join our coaching class for weekly support to change the way you move, think and respond to pain. Practical tools, applied to your lifestyle.
